BALTIMORE, Md. — A 15-year-old boy was shot Tuesday night in Southwest Baltimore, prompting an investigation after officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert and later learned the victim had arrived at a local hospital.

Police were dispatched at about 8:38 p.m. on June 30 to the 2100 block of Vine Street after receiving a ShotSpotter notification.

When officers arrived, they found evidence that a shooting had occurred.

A short time later, police were notified that a 15-year-old boy had walked into an area hospital with gunshot wounds.

The teen was being treated for injuries police described as non-life-threatening.

Southwest District shooting detectives have assumed the investigation.

Police have not announced any arrests or released information about a possible suspect.
