Route 9 shut down in Howell after vehicle crash involving pedestrian

HOWELL, NJ – The Howell Township Police Department has announced Route 9 North was shut down Sunday night after a serious motor vehicle crash.

“Both lanes of Rt.9NB at Strickland are currently,” the Howell Police Department reported. “closed while Howell Police conduct an investigation involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. The pedestrian was conscious while enroute to the hospital. The shoulder is currently open to northbound traffic. Avoid the area if you can. The investigation is expected to last at least two hours.”

The incident happened at around 11 pm.
