Two Pistolwhipped in Clairton, Police Make Arrest

CLAIRTON, PA – Two people were assaulted and struck in the head by a man holding a pistol in Calirton Monday night.

According to police, at approximately 9:34 p.m., Clairton Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 1100 block of Marion Circle. Responding officers found an adult male and adult female victim with head injuries. Neither victim was shot.

Both victims were transported to area hospitals in stable condition.

“Clairton Police requested the investigative assistance of the County Police General Investigations Unit. Detectives began an investigation and learned that Lerrick Williams, 39, of Mt. Oliver was the person responsible for the assault. Williams repeatedly struck both victims in the head with a handgun. Clairton Police found and detained Williams near a local bus stop,” the Allegheny County Police Department said in a statement today.

Detectives obtained a warrant for Williams’ arrest, charging him with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and carrying a firearm without a license. Williams was transported to the county jail for arraignment.
