Police Investigating Newark Restaurant Purse Snatching

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark police department is asking for the Public’s assistance in identifying two suspects connected to a person action that took place Monday in a restaurant on Ferry Street in Newark.

According to police, at approximately 8:15 p.m., officers responded to a call of a theft in the 200 block of Ferry Street. A female victim’s black and gold Kate Spade purse was stolen while she was dining.

“Two males, who were seated behind the victim, left the establishment with one suspect appearing to be hiding something under his clothing,” police said. “Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in identifying the two suspects. Suspect 1 is described as 5’1” tall and wearing black clothing. Suspect 2 is also described as 5’1” tall wearing black clothing.”
