YONKERS, NY – Police and the city building department shut down a smoke shop accused of selling marijuana-laden candies and other treats for numerous violations.

Police touted the victory, saying, “Another illegal smoke shop has been shut down.”

This time, members of The City of Yonkers Smoke Shop Task Force inspected the Yonkers Smokers store at 262 South Broadway and confiscated numerous unlicensed products for sale, including illicit cannabis and unlawful synthetic cannabinoid products.

The department added that the store was shut down for Building and Fire code violations.

“Many of these products are designed in appearance to mimic candy, such as the THC infused “Wonka Bar” that comes in Jelly Doughnut and M&M flavors,” the Yonkers Police Department said. “These items are in our community – please keep a watchful eye on young kids who could potentially have access to them.”
