Gunfire in Newark’s West Ward Leaves Three Injured

NEWARK, NJ – A female victim is among three injured after a shooting in Newark’s West Ward at 8:10 p.m. on Sunday.

Responders arrived at the scene to find multiple shell casings, a bullet-ridden car, and a female victim suffering gunshot wounds.

Two additional victims arrived at University Hospital, one with a gunshot wound to the head. The assailant fled the scene and remains at large. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office has been informed of the incident as an active investigation continues in the area.

No suspects have been identified. No arrests have been made.
