Pennsylvania Fugitive Captured in California After Ten Year Search

by Ryan Dickinson

PITTSBURGH, PA – Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus announced the arrest of Johnny Bledsoe, a fugitive for ten years, in San Francisco.

Bledsoe, 48, was originally arrested in 2013 by City of Pittsburgh Police after a woman identified him as the person who stole her iPhone and spat on her. He was charged with robbery, criminal mischief, and harassment, and all charges were held for court. Bledsoe failed to appear for his formal arraignment and has been a fugitive since.

Earlier this month, detectives developed information pointing to an address in San Francisco. In collaboration with the US Marshals Pittsburgh Task Force, the information was relayed to the US Marshals Southwest Pacific Task Force. Bledsoe was arrested without incident on September 5, 2023.

He is now in the San Francisco County Jail, awaiting extradition to Allegheny County.
