Teenager Arrested for Bringing Gun to Eastmoor Academy

COLUMBUS, OH – A 16-year-old boy was arrested on Monday after faculty at Eastmoor Academy notified the Columbus Division of Police about a handgun brought into the school zone.

The incident, which occurred around 9:45 a.m., was addressed by officers who confiscated the weapon without incident.

The teenager has been charged with conveyance of a deadly weapon into a school safety zone. The Columbus Division of Police has not released further details regarding the incident or the identity of the student due to legal protections for minors.

The investigation into the incident and the circumstances leading to the teenager bringing a weapon into the school continues.

The Columbus Division of Police encourages anyone with additional information to come forward.
