Woman Found Dead Friday Night After Assault on 167th Street

BRONX, NY — Police responded to an emergency call regarding an assault at 240 West 167th Street in the Bronx late Friday night. Upon arrival, they discovered a 38-year-old woman, unconscious and unresponsive.

Emergency Medical Services were called to the scene and pronounced the woman dead. The cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Authorities have taken one person of interest into custody as part of the ongoing investigation. The identity of the deceased has not been released, pending notification of her family.
