ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — The Atlantic City Police Department has successfully arrested a man identified as Hakim Clark, 33, of Atlantic City, who was found in possession of a stolen handgun and illegal drugs. The arrest occurred on March 8 at 11:52 AM in the beach block of North Carolina Avenue.

Officer La’Tray Butcher spotted Clark, who was wanted on two active warrants, including one from North Carolina that required extradition. Upon being stopped, Clark became aggressive and attempted to disguise his identity. Despite his resistance, Officer Butcher, alongside Sergeant Gary Holmes and Officer Lorenzo Bethea, managed to detain him. A subsequent search revealed a loaded handgun in Clark’s possession, reported stolen in North Carolina, and 10 ecstasy pills.

Clark faces multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow-point ammunition, hindering apprehension, resisting arrest, receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), refusal to be fingerprinted, and being a fugitive from justice. The swift action by the Atlantic City Police highlights their ongoing commitment to public safety and the rule of law.
