Shots fired on Seymour Avenue in Utica

UTICA, NY — On Saturday, Utica Police officers responded to a “Shotspotter” alert of gunfire in front of a residence on the 1600 block of Seymour Avenue. Police officers discovered three .40 caliber spent shell casings in front of the residence. No persons were injured, and no property damage was identified. Data from the “Shotspotter” technology indicated that the gunfire came from a slow-moving motor vehicle.

No one from the public called 911 to report the incident. The Utica Police Department is currently investigating the matter. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information to contact the Major Crimes Unit (MCU) at 315-223-3556.
