ALEXANDRIA, VA — Officers from the Alexandria Police Department and deputies from the Alexandria Sheriff’s Office joined forces to spread holiday cheer, delivering Thanksgiving meals to families in need across the community.

The effort, made possible by a partnership with the Alexandria Police Foundation and the Harris Teeter grocery store in Foxchase, saw law enforcement vehicles filled with turkeys, chickens, and all the traditional trimmings for a festive meal.

“We’re grateful for the generous support from our community partners, which enables us to ensure more families can enjoy a Thanksgiving meal,” the department said in a statement shared on social media.

The initiative underscores the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and local businesses to support vulnerable members of the community during the holiday season.
