A lottery player in Orange County is holding a ticket worth $4M after matching enough numbers in the latest Mega Millions drawing
NEWBURGH, N.Y. — A Newburgh lottery player is sitting on a $4M Mega Millions prize after a winning ticket was sold at a local retailer for Tuesday night’s drawing.
The New York Lottery announced that a second-prize-winning Mega Millions ticket worth $4,000,000 was sold at Smokes 4 Less, located at 59 North Plank Road in Newburgh.
Lottery officials said the ticket matched the numbers required to win the game’s second-tier prize in the June 9 drawing.
The winner has not yet been identified publicly.
Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m., with players selecting numbers from a field of 1 through 70 and a Mega Ball from a separate field of 1 through 24.
The New York Lottery did not release additional information about the winning ticket.
The New York Lottery remains the largest and most profitable lottery in North America, contributing $3.6B to benefit public schools across New York State during fiscal year 2024-2025.
