82 Year Old Man Dies Months After Landover Hills Hit and Run

LANDOVER HILLS, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department has reported the death of 82-year-old Tyrone Tyson of Hyattsville, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a hit-and-run collision that occurred in January. The incident, now under the scrutiny of the department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit, happened in the town of Landover Hills.

The tragic event took place on January 25, 2024, at the intersection of Annapolis Road and 68th Avenue. Tyson was attempting to cross the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle whose driver subsequently fled the scene. Authorities have since identified the driver involved in the incident.

The Prince George’s County Police Department handles all investigations into fatal collisions within Landover Hills, seeking justice for victims and their families. In the wake of this unfortunate death, the department is urging anyone with information about the case to contact the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at 301-731-4422.
