FAIRVIEW, IL – Kevin Weaver of Fairview is still in disbelief after winning the top prize of $1 million on a scratch-off lottery ticket. The winning ticket was purchased at County Market, located at 1090 East Fort St. in Farmington, a small town about 20 miles west of Peoria.
Weaver described his astonishment: “I scratched the ticket in my truck in the parking lot of County Market, and I was in complete shock when I saw that I had won a million dollars.” He immediately shared the news with his wife, Paula, who initially doubted the win until the ticket was verified through the lottery app.
With the winnings, Weaver plans to fulfill a postponed dream. He recounted, “A few years ago I planned on taking Paula to Aruba, which was where I had planned to propose. The trip was too expensive, so we never got to go. Well, you better believe we will definitely be going now!” Additionally, considering the practical needs of their family, Weaver plans to buy Paula a new minivan to comfortably transport their grandchildren, embodying his philosophy of “happy wife, happy life!”
