Brooklyn Man Charged For Sunday Stabbing on East 14th Street

NEW YORK, NY – Alejandro Piedra, a 30-year-old resident of Brooklyn, has been arrested and charged following a violent incident that left one dead and two injured in Manhattan. The confrontation occurred on Sunday, June 23, near Avenue A and East 14th Street, within the 9th Precinct’s jurisdiction.

Police were called to the scene at approximately 5:43 PM after receiving reports of multiple stabbings. Upon arrival, they discovered three victims with varying injuries. A 38-year-old man suffered a fatal stab wound to the neck and was later pronounced dead at NYC Health+Hospitals/Bellevue. A 51-year-old woman, stabbed in the leg, is currently in critical condition, while a 32-year-old man, stabbed in the back, is in stable condition.

Piedra faces charges of Murder and Attempted Murder under the category of Depraved Indifference, with one count of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder in the second degree. The investigation continues as authorities piece together the events leading to this tragic occurrence.
