Fatal Pedestrian Crash Investigated on Route 10 in Surry County

Surry County, VA — Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred this morning at approximately 4:11 a.m. on Route 10 (Colonial Trail).

A 2015 Volkswagen was traveling eastbound on Colonial Trail at Magnolia Circle when it encountered a pedestrian in the eastbound lane. The vehicle was unable to avoid the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
