Do You Know Him? Suspect Sought in Violent Assault in Newark

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Department of Public Safety is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an assault incident that occurred on August 4.

Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé has released a request for help following the assault near the intersection of Adams and Walnut Streets.

The incident took place at approximately 3 PM, when a victim was punched in the face by a short, slim Black male. The assault was captured on surveillance footage, with the suspect seen fleeing northbound on Adams Street immediately after the incident.

Authorities urge anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect to contact the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Director Fragé emphasizes the importance of community assistance in resolving this case and ensuring safety in the area.
