Gaithersburg, MD – A Lynchburg, VA man has been charged with criminally negligent manslaughter following a fatal high-speed collision earlier this year. Vincent Anderson, Jr., 36, faces charges including failure to control speed to avoid a collision stemming from the March 11 incident.

The collision involved two vehicles: a red 2013 Subaru Outback driven by 77-year-old Maria Antonieta Perdomo of Silver Spring, and a 2019 black Tesla Model Y driven by Anderson. According to the Montgomery County Department of Police’s Collision Reconstruction Unit, the Subaru was turning left from northbound Layhill Road onto westbound Bel Pre Road when the Tesla, traveling southbound on Layhill Road, collided with it in the intersection.

Investigators determined that Anderson was driving at 77 MPH at the time of the impact. Following the investigation, he was formally charged on September 27.

Anderson accepted a plea agreement on October 4, and sentencing is set for December 9.
