Officers say littering and outdoor bedding violations were discovered
CUMBERLAND, Md. — Two Cumberland residents were issued criminal citations after police said they found an encampment and a large amount of trash outside an abandoned business.
According to the Cumberland Police Department, officers responded Tuesday to the 300 block of West Industrial Boulevard for a reported disturbance.
After separating two people involved, officers said they discovered the pair had established an outdoor encampment and left a large amount of refuse nearby.
Joshua Gene Day, 35, and Abree Danicka-Nickol Braithwaite, 32, were each issued citations charging them with setting up bedding outdoors and littering.
Both were released pending trial in District Court.
The charges are allegations, and both defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
