Victim Fights Off Armed Suspects in Northwest DC Shooting

Washington, DC – An alarming shooting incident in Northwest DC has prompted authorities to seek public assistance in identifying the suspects involved.

On October 11, 2024, at approximately 12:10 p.m., the suspects approached the victim in the Unit block of Banner Lane, Northwest. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The victim managed to fight off the suspects, but during the altercation, he was shot, sustaining a non-life-threatening injury. The suspects fled the scene without taking anything.

Surveillance cameras in the area captured images of the suspects, which may assist in the investigation.

Anyone who can identify the suspects or has information regarding the incident is encouraged to call the Metropolitan Police Department at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for violent crimes in the District of Columbia.
