MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — An individual has been detained after a barricade situation unfolded on Greens Boulevard on Friday afternoon, according to the Myrtle Beach Police Department. The incident began around 1:35 p.m. when officers attempted to apprehend a wanted person in the 2000 block of the street.

The suspect fled from officers and barricaded themselves inside a residence, prompting nearby homes to be evacuated as a precaution. Police have since resolved the situation, though no details about the individual’s identity have been released.

Authorities reported an increased police presence in the area during the standoff. Residents were advised to avoid the vicinity while the situation was ongoing. The Myrtle Beach Police Department has asked anyone with information related to the case to contact them directly.
