ALEXANDRIA, VA — Mt. Vernon Avenue was briefly shut down Monday evening following a food truck fire that prompted emergency response and road closures between Russell Road and Reed Avenue.

The Alexandria Police Department reported the incident on social media, confirming that the fire was contained and the roadway was reopened later in the evening. No injuries or further damages have been reported at this time.

Authorities have not yet released details on the cause of the fire, which remains under investigation. Fire crews quickly worked to extinguish the blaze, minimizing disruption to the surrounding area.

Residents and commuters were temporarily rerouted while first responders managed the scene.
