ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — A 33-year-old Atlantic City woman was arrested Wednesday after police say she was caught shoplifting at a Bass Pro Shop and found in possession of a loaded handgun, heroin, methamphetamine, and other drugs.

Officers Bao Pham and Matthew Crosby responded to the first block of North Arkansas Avenue around 11:36 a.m. after members of the Tanger Outlets security team detained the suspect, identified as Teuta Kupi. Police say Kupi was in possession of stolen merchandise from the Bass Pro Shop and a clothing item later determined to be stolen from a second store.

During the arrest, police discovered that Kupi also had a loaded handgun, 23 bags of heroin, a small quantity of methamphetamine, prescription pills, and drug paraphernalia.

Kupi was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, shoplifting, receiving stolen property, and multiple counts of drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
