The machine, nicknamed “Spot,” has been patrolling the property for several weeks, a development confirmed by sources close to Trump’s security team.
The robot is owned and operated by the U.S. Secret Service.
The robotic canine, standing about two feet tall and four feet long, is equipped with advanced surveillance technology and a range of sensors, according to officials familiar with the operation. “While we cannot get into the specific capabilities, the robotic dogs are equipped with surveillance technology, and an array of advanced sensors that support our protective operations,” a representative for the team said in a statement.
Spot, capable of moving at speeds of up to five feet per second, was recently seen navigating the grounds while a group of children played nearby, sparking public curiosity about its role.
