FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Authorities are investigating a three-car collision on Jackson Mills Road that left a 20-year-old male driver dead and two others injured, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced Wednesday.

The crash occurred Monday night at approximately 10:27 p.m. in the vicinity of Geisler Road, where police responded to reports of the multi-vehicle collision.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the 20-year-old was driving a 2017 Infiniti Q50 northbound on Jackson Mills Road when his vehicle collided with a 2017 Ford Transit Van driven by a 40-year-old male. During the crash, a 2017 Subaru Legacy operated by a 21-year-old male sideswiped the van and came to rest off the right side of the road.

The 20-year-old driver was transported to a local hospital but died from his injuries Tuesday morning at 6:22 a.m. The other two drivers were taken to a separate hospital with what authorities described as moderate injuries.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and Freehold Township Police Department continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
