Married duo stumbles upon $100K jackpot after three-day wait

WALDORF, MD — A married couple from Charles County is celebrating a $100,000 win after purchasing a Mega Bucks scratch-off ticket during a routine visit to Korner Liquors in Waldorf. The winning ticket, purchased for $10, marked a life-changing moment for the duo, who often play Lottery games together.

The couple, who describe themselves as regular players, said they didn’t scratch the ticket right away. “Life just got busy,” they explained, admitting it took them three days to revisit the ticket that would make them $100,000 richer.

“When we finally scratched it, we couldn’t believe what we were seeing,” the wife said. After confirming their prize with the Maryland Lottery app, the ecstatic couple danced and celebrated in their living room, saying the moment felt surreal.

The winning ticket was sold at Korner Liquors, located at 28944 Three Notch Road in Waldorf. Mega Bucks is a $10 scratch-off with a top prize of $100,000.
