ABERDEEN, Md. — A Harford County man who purchased a $20 MONOPOLY X100 scratch-off ticket at a Royal Farms store in Aberdeen is now planning for retirement after winning a $1 million prize.

The winner, using the alias “Corbin Martin,” bought the ticket on Feb. 6 while stopping for a soda and filling his mother’s car tires with air. After bringing the ticket home, he handed it to his wife to scratch, and she quickly realized they had won the game’s top prize.

The couple recently purchased a home and plan to use the bulk of their winnings to pay off their mortgage early, making retirement possible within the next seven years. They are also considering building a home in the Philippines.

Royal Farms, located at 3710 Churchville Road, will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the top-prize-winning ticket. The MONOPOLY X100 scratch-off is part of the Maryland Lottery’s Second-Chance Promotion, which offers additional cash prizes to players with non-winning tickets.
