Man leaving club in DC stabbed after stepping in to help woman

WASHINGTON, DC — A man trying to stop an attack on a woman in Northwest D.C. ended up stabbed and hospitalized, police said.

The attack occurred around 9:30 p.m . on Feb. 16 in the 2300 block of Wisconsin Avenue, NW. Officers arrived to find the victim inside his pickup truck, suffering from a stab wound.

The man told police he had just left a club when he saw another man assaulting a woman. As he and other witnesses tried to break up the attack, the suspect stabbed him and fled.

Medics transported the victim to a hospital, where he was treated and released. The suspect was last seen walking along Wisconsin Avenue on Sunday. If anyone has any information please call 202-727-9099 or text MPD’s tip line at 50411.
