CONCORD, Va. — A Campbell County woman who already beat the odds once has done it again, winning a $100,000 Powerball prize more than a decade after scoring the same amount on a Virginia Lottery scratcher.

Second six-figure win for longtime player
Sharon Godsey purchased her Powerball ticket at Carson Market on Village Highway in Concord, using a mix of her favorite numbers. She matched four of the first five numbers plus the Powerball — a combination typically worth $50,000. But thanks to adding Power Play for an extra $1, her prize was doubled to $100,000.
The winning numbers for the March 31 drawing were 12, 41, 44, 52, 64, and Powerball number 25.
Lottery funds continue to benefit Virginia schools
Godsey previously won $100,000 in 2013 on the Virginia Lottery’s Sapphire Riches scratcher game. Her hometown of Concord is in Campbell County, which received more than $8 million in K-12 education funding from the Virginia Lottery in the last fiscal year.
In total, the Virginia Lottery generated more than $934 million for public education in Fiscal Year 2024.
