Utica, New York — A TAKE 5 player in Utica won a $20,070 top prize in Friday’s midday drawing with a winning ticket sold at a local convenience store, according to the New York Lottery.

The winning ticket was purchased at Fastrac, located at 384 North Genesee Street. The draw was part of the May 3 TAKE 5 MIDDAY game, one of two daily drawings held by the state lottery.

TAKE 5 drawings are conducted twice each day — at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. — with winning numbers selected from a field of one to 39. Players who match all five numbers win the top prize, with additional winnings possible through smaller match combinations.

Lottery prizes must be claimed within one year of the drawing date, regardless of the prize amount. As of Monday, the identity of the prizewinner has not been released.

The Utica win adds to a growing number of top-prize TAKE 5 tickets sold at retailers across New York State.
