A woman was critically injured Monday afternoon following a shooting in Southeast D.C., according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1600 block of W Street SE, where they found the woman conscious and breathing despite suffering a gunshot wound. Emergency responders transported her to a hospital for treatment.
Police have issued a lookout for three individuals last seen wearing dark clothing in connection with the shooting. No further suspect descriptions were immediately available.
