LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A 39-year-old Ashburn man died Friday night after being hit by an emergency vehicle operated by the Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System (LCFRS), authorities confirmed.

The incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. on May 9 in the eastbound lanes of Route 7, just west of the Loudoun County Parkway interchange. Responding deputies from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office found the victim, identified as Michael James Singer, at the scene.

Singer was pronounced dead on site. Officials have not released further details regarding the circumstances leading to the fatal collision.

Authorities have not disclosed vehicle type as investigation continues

As of Saturday morning, investigators had not confirmed what type of emergency vehicle was involved in the crash. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation and is seeking witnesses who may have seen the incident.
