BOSTON, Mass. — Boston police have issued a warrant for a Belmont man accused of wielding a hatchet during a violent road rage incident in Brighton earlier this month.

Officers responded to a reported motor vehicle accident around 11:45 p.m. and were told by Boston Police Operations that a man was using a hatchet to smash the windows of a crashed vehicle. No injuries were reported at the scene.

Following an investigation, detectives from District D-14 (Allston/Brighton) secured a straight warrant from Brighton District Court for Oprian’s arrest.
