SEASIDE HEIGHTS, N.J. — An 18-year-old woman was stabbed Saturday evening in the area of the Sunset Motel on Webster Avenue in Seaside Heights, prompting a coordinated emergency response and a medical helicopter evacuation from nearby Seaside Park.
This incident has been confirmed by multiple sources within the borough.
Police and Ocean County Sheriff’s officers responded to the scene shortly after reports of a stabbing were received. The victim, bleeding from the back, was found near the Sunset Motel and was treated on-site before being transported to the J Street Marina in Seaside Park, where a landing zone was established for an airlift to a trauma center.
Multiple law enforcement agencies are currently searching for the suspect. No further details on the condition of either victim or the identity of the attacker have been released at this time.
Firefighters, EMS, and law enforcement personnel remained on scene into the evening as the investigation continued.
Initial reports by the Seaside Heights Police Department claimed the woman was just walking when she was attacked. The suspect ran towards the boardwalk after the stabbing. It was also reported that a second suspect, who also fled, was armed with a gun.
