Glen Burnie butcher carves out $50K lottery win

Glen Burnie butcher cuts big lottery win

by Local News Report

GLEN BURNIE, Md. — A Glen Burnie butcher turned a casual lottery stop into a $50,000 payday after purchasing a FAST PLAY Mega Multiplier ticket with a found $20 bill.

The Anne Arundel County resident, a regular Maryland Lottery player, claimed the prize at Lottery headquarters and said the win came after buying a mix of scratch-offs and one FAST PLAY ticket. While the scratch-offs came up empty, the Mega Multiplier ticket hit big.

The ticket was purchased at Luckies Market, located at 7713 Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard in Glen Burnie. The $10 FAST PLAY Mega Multiplier game launched in April 2023 and continues to offer substantial prizes across Maryland.

The winner, who has played the Lottery for years, said he started after being inspired by his grandmother, who always carried tickets with her. The $50,000 win is his largest prize to date.

Winner plans low-key celebration, game remains loaded with top prizes

The Glen Burnie player said he will celebrate quietly with a new tattoo and place the remainder of the winnings into savings. He has not shared the news widely and intends to keep the win largely private.

As of June 24, the Mega Multiplier game still has 24 unclaimed $100,000 top prizes, 12 more $50,000 prizes, and dozens of additional mid-tier wins remaining. Prize amounts range from $10 to $100,000.

The FAST PLAY Mega Multiplier game is available statewide and offers instant win results at the time of purchase.
