Victim found bleeding outside apartment in Wilkes-Barre

Wilkes-Barre, PA – A man was hospitalized after an early morning assault outside a North Washington Street apartment Friday that left visible signs of a violent struggle.

At approximately 5:30 a.m. on August 15, Wilkes-Barre City Police responded to 685 North Washington Street for a report of a bleeding male. Upon arrival, officers saw the man being loaded onto a stretcher by city medics. Blood was visible on the outside steps, and police noted evidence suggesting a struggle had occurred.

The victim, described as a Black male, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

City detectives, the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office, and the Pennsylvania State Police Forensic Services Unit responded to assist in the investigation.
