Drunk driver caught urinating in bushes busted on pile of violations in Stafford County
Stafford, VA – A man suspected of driving drunk was caught urinating in bushes on Red Fern Lane just before he was hit with a long list of violations, including DUI, indecent exposure, and driving a vehicle with expired tags and no front license plate.
It all started Sunday afternoon around 4:19 p.m. when a caller reported a man who appeared intoxicated exiting a vehicle and relieving himself in some bushes. The responding sergeant, E.E. West, quickly found the suspect back behind the wheel of his car and made contact. The man allegedly admitted to drinking “one whisky” and had an open alcoholic beverage still inside the vehicle.
The car itself was far from roadworthy — it had expired registration, expired inspection, and was missing its front license plate. The man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, drinking while driving, refusal, expired registration, expired inspection, improper display of a license plate, and indecent exposure. He’s now being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
Meanwhile, a business dispute at Queen Beauty on Garrisonville Road could soon turn into a larceny case. A customer reportedly had braids put in her hair but refused to pay after learning the price. The woman left the salon without paying, prompting a call to law enforcement. A deputy advised her that payment was required regardless of her dissatisfaction with the cost. The investigation is ongoing.
Also Sunday, around 10:18 p.m., a heavily intoxicated man was found passed out on the sidewalk in front of Elite Tobacco on Richmond Highway. Deputy W.E. Trainor located the man, who admitted to “drinking heavily” and had no idea where he was. He was arrested for public intoxication and taken to Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
Earlier that day, at 8:24 a.m., deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on Brooke Road. They found an overturned Honda Accord — but no driver. While the driver was not immediately located, authorities have since identified the individual and the case remains active.
In another incident on Garrisonville Road, two individuals previously trespassed from Walmart were spotted back on the property. Deputy J.J. Holetzky arrived at 3:29 p.m. and located the pair. Warrants for trespassing were obtained.
Finally, a high-profile arrest took place Monday afternoon at Earl’s Shopping Center on Chatham Heights Road. Around 2:29 p.m., U.S. Marshals spotted a man wanted out of Alexandria on several felony sexual assault charges. Deputies assisted in detaining the suspect without incident. He was served his warrants and is currently being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
