Brooklyn, NY – Thursday — A 32-year-old Ohio man was arrested on two counts of assault as New York City police continue to search for an unidentified individual who injured a 12-year-old girl during a separate incident at Atlantic Terminal earlier this month.
Charles Burgess, of Dayton, Ohio, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of assault. Details surrounding Burgess’s arrest, including the location and circumstances of the charges, have not yet been released publicly.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, police are asking for help identifying a man who reportedly injured a child inside 620 Atlantic Avenue — the Atlantic Terminal Mall — on Tuesday, August 5 at around 8:45 p.m.
According to investigators, the unidentified individual threw an object that struck a 12-year-old girl in the right leg before fleeing the location on foot. The child suffered pain but did not require hospitalization.
Surveillance footage captured the suspect at the scene. He was last seen wearing a red hat, black shirt, black shorts, and black shoes.
The NYPD has released images of the individual and is urging anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues in the 78th Precinct.
