Gunman opens fire on Bronx street in broad daylight as NYPD searches for shooter

BRONX, NY – A gunman opened fire in broad daylight on a Bronx street Monday evening, sending bullets flying outside a residential building as stunned bystanders scrambled for cover—now police are trying to identify the shooter.

The reckless shooting happened around 6:20 p.m. in front of 300 East 170th Street, within the 44th Precinct. According to the NYPD, an unidentified individual brandished a firearm and discharged it multiple times before fleeing the scene.

No injuries were reported, but the incident has triggered a reckless endangerment investigation and a citywide manhunt. Detectives are analyzing surveillance footage and are urging anyone who can help identify the suspect to contact police.
