QUEENS, N.Y. – Police are searching for a man accused of robbing a 92-year-old pedestrian of his cellphone and pushing him to the ground Thursday afternoon in Queens.
The robbery happened at approximately 2:30 p.m. near 66th Avenue and 108th Street within the NYPD’s 112th Precinct, according to NYPD Crime Stoppers. Police said the unidentified man approached the victim from behind and forcibly took his cellphone.

Police Say Robber Approached 92-Year-Old From Behind
The victim was walking in the area when the unidentified man came up behind him, according to the NYPD’s account.
“An unidentified male approached him from behind and forcibly removed his cellphone,” NYPD Crime Stoppers said.
Police said the encounter did not end after the cellphone was taken.
“The unidentified male then grabbed the victim and pushed him on the ground,” police said.
The fall caused the 92-year-old to suffer a laceration to his left upper arm, according to authorities.
Police did not provide additional information about the victim’s condition or say whether he required hospital treatment.
NYPD Searches for Suspect in Queens Robbery
The unidentified man fled on foot after the robbery and was last seen heading to an unknown location, police said.
NYPD Crime Stoppers has issued a public appeal for information as detectives work to identify the suspect.
“Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS,” police said.

Police have not announced an arrest.
