Man gunned down in Southeast DC as police hunt two caught on camera

WASHINGTON, DC – A man was shot and killed just after midnight on a Southeast street, and now police are on the hunt for two suspects seen in chilling surveillance footage fleeing the scene.

It happened Tuesday, August 26 around 12:25 a.m., when officers from the Sixth District rushed to the 300 block of Anacostia Road SE after a shooting was reported inside a residence. They found 31-year-old Franck Foute Mohdjiom suffering from a gunshot wound and still breathing, but unresponsive.

Emergency crews transported Mohdjiom to an area hospital, but he died shortly after arrival when life-saving efforts failed. The victim was a resident of Southeast DC.

Surveillance cameras in the area captured images of two individuals believed to be connected to the deadly shooting. Those photos — along with video footage — have since been released as detectives push for public assistance in tracking them down.
