Brick Township man sentenced to state prison for possession of child sexual abuse material
Brick, NJ — A 43-year-old Brick Township man has been sentenced to five years in New Jersey State Prison after pleading guilty to possession of child sexual abuse material, prosecutors announced Friday.
Dennis Hubert received the sentence from Superior Court Judge Dina M. Vicari. He had entered a guilty plea to the charge on May 9. Hubert is already serving a prison term for a parole violation in an unrelated case, and the new sentence will run concurrently.
The case stemmed from a referral by the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which received a cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about online activity involving child sexual abuse material. Investigators traced the activity to an IP address linked to Hubert’s Brick Township residence.
On October 24, 2024, detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Squad, Homeland Security Investigations, and Brick Township Police executed a search warrant at Hubert’s home. A forensic review of his electronic devices uncovered multiple files containing child sexual abuse material. Hubert was arrested that day and taken to the Ocean County Jail.
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer credited the collaborative work of local, state, and federal investigators for securing Hubert’s guilty plea and sentence.
