Asbury Park, NJ – The undead will rise again this weekend as the annual Zombie Walk returns to the boardwalk on Saturday, bringing with it thousands of costumed participants and horror fans. Since its start in 2008, the event has become one of Asbury Park’s most recognizable traditions, drawing crowds dressed in elaborate zombie makeup and staggering through the city in a spectacle of the living dead.
The walk, which once held the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of zombies with more than 10,000 participants, continues to attract visitors from across New Jersey and beyond. Local artists will be on hand to provide professional makeup for attendees, while bands, vendors and themed activities will surround the main procession.

Running from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the festival-like atmosphere is expected to fill the boardwalk with families, groups and horror enthusiasts, giving businesses along the shore a seasonal surge in visitors. Organizers describe the event as a citywide takeover, with the undead march as its centerpiece.
The walk remains free and open to the public, carrying forward a tradition that mixes seaside charm with horror culture in one of the state’s most anticipated fall gatherings.
This weekend, Asbury Park won’t just be alive with crowds — it will be crawling with zombies.
