Toms River, NJ – An Ocean County man is being held in the Ocean County Jail after authorities charged him with offenses related to alleged child sexual abuse material.

Cory Michael Baxter, 32, was committed to the Ocean County Jail on Monday, according to county inmate records.

Held without bail

Jail records show Baxter is being held without bail following his commitment on July 21.

He has been charged under N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4B(5)(a), alleging endangering the welfare of a child by exhibiting or possessing a photograph depicting a child in a prohibited sexual act, and N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4B(5), alleging endangering the welfare of a child involving the sale or distribution of such material.

Under New Jersey law, these offenses concern child sexual abuse material, formerly referred to in statute as child pornography.

Investigation details not yet released

The publicly available jail records do not identify the law enforcement agency that made the arrest or provide details regarding the investigation that led to the charges.

As of Wednesday, authorities had not released additional information about the allegations.
