Body of woman pulled from Monongahela River in West Homestead

WEST HOMESTEAD, PA – Authorities are investigating after the body of an adult female was recovered from the Monongahela River on Saturday afternoon, according to the Allegheny County Police Department.

Emergency crews responded around 12:07 p.m. after a 911 caller reported spotting a body in the water. First responders located and recovered the remains near the riverbank. Police said there were no obvious signs of trauma, and the Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death as well as confirm the woman’s identity.

The Homicide Unit is assisting with the investigation, though officials have not indicated any immediate evidence of foul play.
