PHILADELPHIA, PA – A late-night crash involving a Philadelphia Fire Department ambulance left one person dead in North Philadelphia.
The fatal collision happened around 11:52 p.m. Thursday on the 3100 block of F Street in the city’s 24th District.
Investigators said the medic unit was traveling east on East Allegheny Avenue before turning south onto F Street, where it struck a pedestrian.
Emergency personnel from the vehicle immediately began administering life-saving care and called for additional assistance. A second medic unit arrived shortly after and pronounced the victim dead at 12:01 a.m. Friday.
The identity of the pedestrian has not yet been confirmed. The Crash Investigation Division is leading the ongoing probe into the incident and has not released further details about what led to the collision.
