Truck driver dies after veering off Prince William Parkway in Manassas

Manassas, VA – A 35-year-old truck driver from California was killed early Saturday morning after his vehicle left the roadway and struck a guardrail along Prince William Parkway.

The crash occurred around 4:45 a.m. near the intersection of Hansen Farm Road.

Emergency crews arrived to find the 2022 Mack Anthem truck off the right shoulder of the parkway with heavy damage.

Investigators said the vehicle had been traveling east when it suddenly veered off the roadway, hit a guardrail, and came to rest a short distance later. The driver, identified as Jatinder Chauhan of Turlock, California, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Possible medical emergency

Preliminary findings suggest Chauhan may have suffered a medical episode before the crash. Authorities said no other vehicles were involved, and there were no reports of additional injuries.

Appeal for witnesses

Prince William County crash investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage from the area around 4:45 a.m. to contact police.

The crash temporarily closed a portion of Prince William Parkway while investigators documented the scene and cleared debris.

No further details have been released as the investigation continues.
