Robbery suspect arrested after victim targeted near alley in Southeast DC

Washington, DC – A man was arrested Friday morning after allegedly robbing a victim near a Southeast alleyway, with police saying the suspect fled the scene but was quickly apprehended by responding officers.

The robbery occurred at approximately 11:44 a.m. near 8th Street and Heights Alley, Southeast, when multiple suspects approached a person and threatened them before taking an undisclosed amount of cash. One of the individuals involved was caught shortly after the incident, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Police say 23-year-old Davon Lindsey, of Southeast DC, was arrested on the same day and has been charged with Robbery (Fear). The remaining suspect or suspects were not immediately identified, and no further arrests have been announced as of Sunday.

The case remains under active investigation. Detectives are seeking any information related to the incident, which occurred in broad daylight, just steps from a residential area.

The MPD is offering up to $1,000 for tips that lead to further arrests and indictments in the case. Witnesses are urged to contact police or use the department’s anonymous text tip line.
