Man shot in leg at Saratoga and Livonia in Brooklyn, gunman sought

BROOKLYN, NY – A 24-year-old man was shot Monday afternoon at the intersection of Saratoga Avenue and Livonia Avenue, police said.

The shooting happened around 3 p.m. when an unidentified suspect opened fire, hitting the victim in the right thigh.

The wounded man was taken by private vehicle to One Brooklyn Health – Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center.

He was listed in stable condition, according to authorities.

Gunman fled scene after shooting

Police said the shooter ran from the area on foot immediately after the attack and has not been located. Officers from the 73rd Precinct responded to the scene and recovered shell casings as part of their investigation.

Detectives are now working to determine what led to the shooting and whether the victim was the intended target.

Investigation ongoing

No arrests have been made, and the suspect’s description has not yet been released. Investigators are reviewing area surveillance footage and asking witnesses to come forward.
